Police are asking the public’s help to identify and locate the man and woman who reportedly went into Macy’s in Commack at 2 Veterans Memorial Highway on Sunday, Aug. 11 at around 11 a.m., an approached the jewelry section where they asked to look at a gold chain, said police.
When it was removed from its case by a store employee, the man allegedly punched the victim in the face and the man and woman fled the scene in a car caught on video surveillance camera, according to Suffolk County Police.
The man is described as light-skinned, 6 feet 2 inches and over 200 pounds and is believed to be in his mid-20s.
The woman is white and in her 20s.
Police said the chain is valued at $4,000.
